Feelings - nothing more than feelings

So Af Am Group - I've got a question.

Many threads have been devoted to the #BlackTwitter name for White People.

First, I hope it's okay to write White People. I'm never sure these days.

Second - I wonder if the term really has to do with the number of characters? Like for example - the #BlackTwitter word only has 6 characters. White People (forgive me - math is like - haaaaaaaaaard) has 12 characters when you include the space between those two words. Could it be as simple as that?

Third - does this all really boil down to feelings? Has America including liberals and progressives and ESPECIALLY Americans who are black - learned nothing since 1865? Did we forget the ultimate rule -that we aren't allowed to have feelings about matters? Or if we do -have them disregarded by the dominant culture because after all - we are blapipo?

I'm thinking - that discomfort over words DOES count but ONLY if you are a White American. There - I wrote it.

Our feelings don't count. Here are things I'm 'learning' as black American - this is just a short list 'kay?:

1. Terrified of the police because you are black? Fuck you and your feelings.

2. Knowing that you as a black woman of means is more likely to die of breast cancer than a poor white women due to racial prejudice by doctors causes anxiety? Fuck you and your feelings.

3. Knowing your minor child can be shot by the police and everyone and their mother will question why your 12 year old antagonized a cop with a quick trigger and this causes you discomfort? Fuck you and your feelings?

4. Knowing a rising tide has NEVER lifted all boats in this country got you down? Fuck you and your feelings.

5. Knowing that you are in your third trimester and have MUCH higher risk of death post pregnancy and that it's just a number because AGAIN - you aren't precious and special to the medical community and so you spend much of the time fearing for how your child and family will get through without you? Fuck you and your feelings.

6. Knowing you can't throw a barbecue in a public place, listening to loud music, knock on a door for directions without getting shot, walking armed with skittles and iced tea could get you followed and shot by a pervert - getting in you in a snit? Fuck you and your feelings.

7. Being chastised for listening to music which contains the n-bomb got you up in YOUR FEELINGS? Fuck you and your feelings.

8. Oh - you don't like when people look past you at a store and cater to non-white folks spending less money than you and sales clerks apologizing to them for having to WAIT their fucking turn is irritating? Fuck you and your feelings.

9. Knowing that you worked hard to get where you are at and get ahead and you earned it yet still have people WHINE about quotas is irritating at the least? Fuck you and your feelings.

10. Knowing that in item #9 you are STILL being paid less whether you are a black man or a woman engineer for the same job some 22 year old white guy got because 'daddy had a connection' got you angry? Well just FUCK you and your feelings.

*************************

I hope this clarifies things for you all. ONE word is the subject of much debate and so we are never ever ever eveeeeeeeeeeeer allowed to use that word because it might alienate people who don't really give a FUCK about YOUR feelings on anything.

So you see, it doesn't matter the word. What matters are feelings. Nothing more than THEIR feelings. Your 'feelings' about REAL ISSUES AND CONCERNS don't matter.

AllFeelingsMatter as long as they aren't yours.

That's all. I'm now taking #blacktwitter's word and trashing it at DU because I'm fucking BORED with the conversation.

It describes attitudes and behaviors of some white people. Why is that such a difficult concept to understand?

When a term is interpreted negatively by some members of the group a writer seeks to convince and negatively by some people who are generally already in league with the writer, then there is not going to be much convincing going on but there may be more preaching to the choir.

Loaded terms are dangerous to use unless they are used clearly. I DID say that writers could achieve that simply from the internal context of their writing.

I get it. It can be frustrating when our disingenuous tendencies (e.g. "nitpicking&quot are wholly ignored in favor of our actual premises and conclusions.

(it may be of future assistance to you in Advanced Irony Avoidance to realize that 'respond' and 'answer' are two wholly separate concepts.)

It really gravels my ass the amount of pre-emptive ego stroking and handholding that so many white folks need to get before they can even begin to address easily seen, readily verifiable facts involving race.

I've said it many times before and it looks like it'll be true the day I die... Too many fucking white people are weak minded frightened pieces of shit.

If that hurts your feelings well it's on you.

Unfortunately there are too many people who order the "2 piece, mild, with fries" that without a head start and massive support find just living in and reacting to the real world to be a fucking difficult burden.

It grates at my nerves

That someone of the privileged race would be upset that white people's racism is getting noticed tells me the type of inconveniences they've faced in their life.

And yes 25% of white people are dumb racist fucks and the other 25% are educated racist fucks. Both are bland and useless for conversation because they lack the imagination to comprehend someone else's actual suffering.

A Florida family is "heartbroken" after a jury awarded $4 in damages for funeral expenses and pain and suffering in a case in which a St. Lucie County deputy fatally shot a father of three through his garage door, the family's attorney said Thursday.

Deputy Christopher Newman killed Gregory Hill Jr., 30, in 2014 after a mother picking up her child at a school across the street called in a noise complaint.

Newman and another deputy responded to Hill's home, Hill partially opened the garage door, closed it and Newman fired four times, hitting Hill three times, including once in the head, according to court and police records.

Yet another case of -

Oh your sad your father was murdered?

Fuck you and your feelings - focus on Jarvanka being called the C word.

That is a REAL injustice.

Whenever black folk raise these issues, we're told to stop being so sensitive, taking everything personally and assuming the worst motives by white people.

But let us say "wypipo" and suddenly hurt feelings are THE coin of the realm and the absolute most sensitive feelings are the determinant of what can and can't be said.

It's all very instructive.

On Facebook in my township.

Seriously - we have some woman who is point blank - A racist -

whining about being called on.

You can't make this shit up.

When you say - all black people are poor and uneducated and they chose to be and . . .

You are literally a racist who can't admit that you have a two year degree and are a teachers assistant -

and as a result Michelle Obama is superior to you on every metric.

Well you are a racist.

And I don't care if it hurts her feelings to be told that. She has it coming!

Wypipo became a thing after online activists were being reported and banned on social media for saying "white people" while discussing racism.

It's amazing to see how the reason the term came about is being disregarded.

Of course, context isn't important to some. It's all feelings...business as usual.

Funny how that works -

So we can't even write 'white people' anymore. We can't write the 'w' word.

When will this persecution of us end? It's dare I say - 'divisive' for the group to get upset about - I dunno. I still don't get the insanity of a word or two words - but yes -

I guess now we have to write say -

Non African American, Asian, 1st Peoples, Asian Indian, Hispanic, Latino, Jewish, Arab people.

Like - that's a lot of freaking words to describe my mother.

Can't make this shit up!
