First casualties in DC's New 52

Six of DC's new titles are folding after issue #8, to be replaced by six new titles announced today.

OUT

Mr. Terrific (Never read it, neither did anyone else. No loss except in terms of diversity.)
Static Shock (Ditto; who thought this guy could carry his own book?)
Men of War
Blackhawks (unsurprisingly, both war comics failed)
O.M.A.C. (Hugely disappointing, because I love this one to death)
Hawk and Dove (SUCK IT, LIEFELD!! Ugly-ass comic.)

IN

GI Combat (uhhh. . . two war titles just flopped, and you're trying another? I guess this one will have supernatural overtones -- Haunted Tank!)
Batman, Inc. (Morrison does Bats. Sounds great!)
Earth 2 (Justice Society, this should do well and I'll give it a read.)
World's Finest (Power Girl and Huntress -- hubba hubba!)
Dial H (SF writer China Mieville does comics. Really looking forward to this one!)
Ravagers (A spinoff of Teen Titans or Superboy or some crap. Whatever.)

I'm quite excited to see this new lineup -- several titles I don't care about being replaced with stuff that sounds really good. Five of the six will be added to my pull list, and only one cancelled title is something I'm following. Sad to see O.M.A.C. go - especially after this month's crossover with Frankenstein, Agent of S.H.A.D.E - but it's been consistently at the bottom tier of sales since the launch.

Goodbye, big guy.

but, of course I do since it's King Kirby!
I think DC is coming back down to earth.
Sure, the relaunch was successful...for a minute because it was hyped to death.
But, are the comics themselves really any better.
I guess I'm trying to say...Make Mine Marvel!
(I kid...I kid...just couldn't resist)

I remember when the Brave and the Bold was a pairing of Batman and any number of superhero ccombinations....

I also remember when Worlds Finest was Batman and Superman team ups.

The Worlds Finest was very weak even to a ten year old, especially after Neal Adams started the GL and Detective art.

I say this as huge Batman fan who loves Batman, Detective Comics, Batwing, and the one issue of Nightwing I've gotten around to reading, but the Dark Knight run sucks, I think. I'm all for more Batman, but I wish they would replace the Dark Knight run with a return of the Batman Beyond comics they had last year. As a big fan of the show growing up, it was great to see Terry again.

Being a fan of Sgt. Rock. I was looking forward to seeing some stories depicting the family ties between the grandfather and grandson, but admittedly wasn't a fan of having the super hero elements in the stories.

I do look forward to G. I. Combat, which was a favorite title of mine as a wee lad.
