Is it just me, or does NBC's national broadcast of Olympic programming seem to be unevenly focused

on those events requiring scantily clad or form fitting competition wear?

Diving, swimming, beach volleyball, and gymnastics have comprised a huge chunk of primetime programming so far, while boxing, judo, kayaking, etc. have been relegated to their sister cable companies and during the daytime.

Even on Saturday ... just turned on NBC and found men's water polo; the other channels I receive were showing boxing, soccer, and equestrian jumping.

Is NBC cashing in on voyeurism?

Aside from the diving, it seems they are trying to show events which the USA is great at as well as events that are good for ratings for its main channel. I think Gymnastics is a different story, it strikes me as a huge ratings draw for the Olympics even though I'm personally not into it. W/ the beach volleyball, the USA has great teams though the Dalhausser/Rogers was upset. It certainly explains the swimming which the US just dominates.

They've been showing water polo every single day as well as indoor volleyball back-to-back. It seems like a sport where the US is expected to make a strong showing, especially Women's Indoor Volleyball which features a Destinee Hooker who was 2010 NCAA Tournament MVP.

Anyways, Water Polo is a great game. It reminds me of soccer, hockey, and basketball w/ a dash of football all in one sport. If I could choose what to watch I'd be overdosing on waterpolo.

Also, NBC is showing a lot of rowing.

Also, the boxers have sucked...nothing to cheer about...although the rowing events should be shown more since the US is doing pretty good.

I guess they would paint "USA" or get waterproof temporary tattoos for swimming/water polo.

We live in a social media world, and NBC's coverage is from the Reagan era. Let people see the games as they are happening.

NBC would have to show re-runs of earlier events during primetime hours as it is 4am in the UK right now so no sports going on. Either that or have regular programming(which defeats the purpose of having the rights to air these games). The daytime is mostly live on the East coast, it is mostly live on the west coast during the weekends but during primetime hours they have to show taped events or something else since there are no games going on.

if you have cable tv & the company is participating, which a lot seem to be. That's pretty up-to-date. You just need to have created an account on your cable company's website. I already had one, entered it in the box which popped up and was given access.

Every sport is being streamed on individual feeds and there are some composite feeds. Some of it seems to have commentary intended for the British live audience. I watched the women's team gymnastic final online and had the main feed running in the background for the commentary while watching the specific apparatus that the US team was on in a different tab.

One added bonus: if you like medal ceremonies, after an event is completed its stream keeps running until the medals are given out.

And if you go to an earlier date, you can watch full replays.

east coast time, but they had to show the American gymnast land on her behind an hour earlier. I get it. Gymnastics is watched by a larger crowd but NBC must make an exception when a favorite doesn't quite do it. And as an aside. What kind of sport gets a silver medal when you don't even finish the jump?

And what really bugs me is that you never know when the 100 final or 400 final is coming so you have to sit there and listen to them hour after hour tell me it is coming up. How about telling us the 100 will be at 11.30 PM so I can skip the night and tune in when I have to.
