I briefly saw that Jamaica was favored to win the event but I didn't catch which individual was.

(29,322 posts)4. Looks like it was very close -- I can't wait to watch
I wonder if it is common for different favorites for countries and individuals? I figured Jamaica was favorite due to having more top competitors.
I can't find the odds from the first few sites as they are no longer there or don't know where to look but it does seem like Jeter was the favorite though I think this is a very small upset. Pryce had the second faster times in the Semis and second fastest personal best. Pryce was the 2008 Olympic Gold medal in this event and the 2009 World Champ. Pryce is 25 to Jeter's 32. So I would estimate Jeter was the favorite, Pryce was the biggest threat so it was an upset but not a big one.

(56,177 posts)5. Jeter was not heavily favored...even this year I don't think there's
a heavy favorite in the men's 100M...Bolt even lost his Olympics trials to another Jamaican whose name escapes me...that one shoudl be good also.
