Miguel Indurain calls probe 'strange'

Former champion Miguel Indurain says Lance Armstrong should keep his seven Tour de France titles until drug charges are proven by a single authority recognized by everyone in the sport.

Five-time Tour winner Indurain says "until an organization recognized by all decides to the contrary, the Tour victories are his."

Indurain, who won five straight Tours from 1991-95, says there are too many national and international bodies with differing interests in the fight against doping.

Indurain also calls the U.S. Anti-Doping Agency's case against Armstrong "strange," claiming its pursuit of the American was "without scruples."

I think one point we can agree on is that there are way too many "governing bodies" that "oversee" the sprot...who has the real authority? They all do, and none do.

have you read the NYT piece?

What--- 10 witnesses including one of the most admired riders in the history George Hincapie not good enough for you?

Let the dust settle then make your judgment is all I'm saying...the USADA has an agenda witha guy trying to make a name for himself...there is still no physical evidence to link Lance to doping...I'm actually sort of on the fence on this...I'm am, however, disgusted by everyone believing what the USADA is saying is "fact."

So nobody knows what he testified to, but, according to CBS, he testified that Lance did EPO. Lance denied that, and Hincapie issued a "no comment" non-denial.

It is my understanding that the ICU is not on board w/ the USDA decision. One governing body seems ideal.
