Peyton Manning on the money vs. 49ers

Peyton Manning was done for the day before the first quarter was over; the Denver Broncos coaching staff had seen enough.

The four-time MVP played three series, producing 17 points as he picked apart the San Francisco 49ers in Week 3 of the preseason.

Manning completed 10 of 12 passes for 122 yards and two touchdowns, both to wide receiver Eric Decker.

Manning had been solid in his first two preseason games, completing 66.7% of his passes but a few tipped balls and the occasional duck had left him with no touchdowns, three interceptions and a 48.7 QB rating.

There were no such problems Sunday, the ball came out of Manning's hand clean as he worked all areas of the field, completing passes to six different players while posting a 148.6 QB rating....

Why show your best defense to the Green Bay Packers in a meaningless exhibition?

His throws and timing were nearly perfect. He took a hard shot but was still able to deliver the ball and get back up. Injuries can happen to anyone at anytime.
