Holy crap.....Serena is out of the Australian Open!!!

Got hurt and 19 year old Sloane Stevens beat her in 3 sets..... But Serena did have a previous injury, her right ankle, and with a back injury sustained in this match I'm sure didn't help much. So American women's tennis might be in good hands now. I'm not going to mention the racket Serena just destroyed during the match. I'm sure it'll be shown quite a few times.....hope Sloane can kick Azarenka's arse.

That said, with rest to give time for the ankle and back to heal, she isn't DONE yet. She just needs to take a break and take care of herself for a bit.

I hope this isn't an abeeration for Sloane, but a breakthrough...that said, I think she doesn't stand a chance against Azarenka.

And a great personality, too! I love watching her play. I covered a few of her matches when she was in New Haven last summer.
