Jets interested in adding Kolb

08:06 AM ET 03.15 | Mark Sanchez may soon have that much more competition for leading Gang Green's offense. A few days after the Jets signed veteran David Garrard, the Daily News learned that Kevin Kolb could be added to the team's crowded quarterback depth chart. Sources told The News Thursday that the Jets will be interested in the Cardinals quarterback at the right price. ... Kolb, who has had an uneven six-year career, is familiar with new offensive coordinator Marty Mornhinweg from their time together with the Eagles. Kolb, 28, worked with Mornhinweg from 2007-2010 and showed some flashes late in his tenure in Philadelphia that ultimately helped then-head coach Andy Reid land a second-round pick in a trade.

He was really good in his first few games, accurate, smart, quick to get the ball out etc. Then he got the starting job and Clay Matthews killed him. Was never the same after that. Happy feet, scared, making terrible throws to avoid being hit and the like. I don't know if anyone can come back from that.

He did get a good payday though so I'm sure he's no too upset about all this. Holding a clipboard is a good gig.

He wasn't bad. All like you said, biggest complaint was a 1-1 TD-INT ratio but YPA numbers were solid. You're right about the happy feet, when the Rams Dline was beating the shit out of him he was making horrible throws. He actually didn't too bad against Buffalo the following week whose Dline sacked him several times (it was also the game he was injured on like his 22nd sack(hit many more times) in 3 straight games.

I don't see why he couldn't take the Jets starting job. Compare his accuaracy and YPA figures to Sanchez, he is significantly better.

(Kolb was a great QB at home, a bad one on the road)
