The point is that some places have a robust hockey tradition, and others (*cough*Raleigh, NC*cough) do not.

We do have an ice rink near-ish to us... but not near-ish enough for my son to play. He never really got the hang of skating anyway. We'll leave it to the northern family members. This should be her last year playing so it's awesome that it's here in TX. Still a 2 hour drive but it will be worth it.
