Diana Taurasi called for foul after kissing WNBA opponent

Phoneix Mercury guard Diana Taurasi picked up the most unusual foul when she kissed Minnesota Lynx guard Seimone Augustus after the two exchanged shoves in their WNBA playoff game on Thursday night.

Minnesota topped Phoenix 85-62 in Game 1 of the West Finals. Taurasi and the Mercury need to win two straight games to advance to the WNBA Finals.

Augustus finished with 18 points and Taurasi 15, but the moment in the fourth quarter is likely what they'll be remembered for in this game.

The two players jostled with each other at the top of the key and after Augustus got in Taurasi's face, the former Connecticut star planted a kiss on her right cheek.

I actually follow the WNBA. More often than in the past because of Griner in Phoenix.

The WNBA Finals were great last year, I remember watching Game 2--I think Minnesota had the best home record in the league. The Indiana Fever had an early lead but once the Lynx started turning things around the crowd really got into it. I clearly saw why they had the best home record. It got me to realize if the Timberwolves ever become a great team, they'll have an excellent home court advantage.

Indiana Fever had the best defense in the league last year so they upset the Lynx.

they're on the same team. Seems like kissing an opponent, though, is the only way the WNBA gets any coverage!

The Lynx is fun to watch with Rebekka Brunson & Maya Moore. Phoenix with Taurasi & Griner. LA with Candace Parker. Fever with Tamika Catchings. The crowds are getting into it as evidenced by the Lynx's crowd in the playoffs last year. I see this league getting better in the near future.

Hopefully the coverage comes with it.

And I think the fan base is largely the same...people who followed them in college now want to keep seeing them play.

if Kevin Durant kissed "King James" during a televised game.

(you know perfectly well that in the Fox Sports booth, the director would be screaming "no instant replay, NO INSTANT REPLAY!!!&quot .
