Brooks: RG III shouldn't be playing

After the San Francisco 49ers' defense dominated the Redskins, one of the players who helped to stymie Washington said he doesn't believe that quarterback Robert Griffin III should be playing.

Ahmad Brooks, who had two sacks, seven tackles (three for loss), a pass defensed and two quarterback hits in the 49ers' 27-6 victory, said he doesn't believe Griffin has fully recovered from his knee injury suffered last season and shouldn't be on the field as a result.

"He's obviously a man and he makes his own decisions, but I personally don't feel he should be playing right now," Brooks told CSN Washington.

Griffin threw for just 127 yards on 17-of-27 passing with one interception and was sacked four times in the loss. Aldon Smith had the other two sacks for the 49ers

I'm surprised...surprised more people aren't saying this.

2. Most of the "experts" seem to think he's not the problem...

Yeah, Washington really sucks, but he is a big part of the problem...they should put Cousins in.

And on edit, I read your post...very few QBs succeed when starting right out of college...Luck is the exception...there's too many Sanchez'es and RGIII's and now Geno Smith's

4. He does at times...and probably could have been a great back-up for Payless...

Still, he is already one of the better qbs...but he's the exception.

5. Luck came from the most pro-style offense of all QBs from the class of '12 ...

that's why he was so highly regarded. Even he could tell you it's a huge jump from Stanford's program to the Colts.

I expect he'll be a great QB.

Earlier this year vs. the Broncos. He threw TWO interceptions in his first 5 passes. Remember how everyone said Cam Newton was washed up last year?
The problems are this : Kyle and Mike Shannahan both suck. The offensive line stinks. RG3 probably isn't 100%.
Most people think Cousins would start but everyone that Jay Schroeder was the answer. Then Gus Frerotte was the answer, then Shane Matthews, then Rex Grossman etc etc etc.

At least we have stayed with Romo through thick and thin. We had the QB carousel for a few years after three time Super Bowl winner Troy Aikman retired.

Too bad Danny boy didn't stick with Steve Spurrier!!

6. Much of the problem is RGIII doesn't have shit to work with.

Washington has no offensive line, no recievers, and no running game. What the fuck is he supposed to do? You look at
Aikman in his first year, had essentially nothing around him, yet won three super bowls within just a few years.

Not saying that RGIII will ever be a Troy Aikman.

I do think RG3 will be good once he learns a bit more. But he has zip talent around him. And the coaching sucks

The only way Shanny has any respect is that Elway gave him two Super Bowl rings in Denver. Other than that, he was average at best in Denver. I don't recall if El Supremo was a Denver fan at that time. For all I know he was probably a Miami Dolphin fan at the time!!
