Why not use seedings based on FIFA rankings?

Group A = 1, 16, 17, 32
Group B = 2, 15, 18, 31
and so on.

This would likely explain why Australia ditched Oceania for Asia. Even fifth place in Asia would be better than what they had.

And my system also produces a Group of Death: Italy, Brazil, Ghana and Nigeria. Dammit!
