Mighty congratulations to the Denver Broncos...and a word.

Congratulations to the Denver Broncos. They played a superior game and won all 60 minutes in all phases. I got over hating Peyton Manning years ago, so I can actually be happy for that neckless Fetushead douchebag prick (kidding...kinda)...

...and to be honest, I would have been surprised if the Patriots won this game against a team that one-upped the '07 Pats in every category except wins (PLEASE TAKE THAT FUCKING BANNER DOWN).

In a way, I'm grateful; at least I don't have to watch another depleted Patriots squad lose another Super Bowl, a la 2011. The better team won today, period, end of file. Go get it, Denver. AFC all the way.

...and as for my Patriots, a word.

Charles Barkley. Deadspin. Name your sports mouthpiece, and like as not you'll hear them say that Patriots fans don't appreciate what they have, we're spoiled, we're greedy, we're obnoxious, and the whole country hates us.

God damned right.

We are spoiled.

We are greedy.

We are obnoxious, but so is every other fan base.

And the whole country hates us...yeah, of course, because they so very desperately want what we've had since the third game in September of 2001. Go on and admit it. Y'know, or don't...but it's true, and you know it, and you gnaw on your pillow at night because of it.

Eight AFC championship appearances in thirteen years (one of three teams in history to do so), leading to five Super Bowl appearances, leading to three championship rings. A quarterback with the most post-season wins in the history of the game. Every single season since Tom Brady became a starter excepting the injury year of '08 (2001, 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012 and 2013), we've been in it, a threat, and more often than not have gone deep, if not won it all.

This year, we absorbed more casualties than the Confederates did at Gettysburg, and went 12-4 anyway, and made the AFC championship game. By rights, we should have been 7-9, done weeks ago, thinking about next year and the draft. We came two games short instead, because that is what the mother fuck we do.

...and as far as all the "Ermahgerd you don't appreciate it" dogshit goes, shut the entire fuck up, because you're wrong. We appreciate it. We worship it. But you sad sacks want us to appreciate it all as if it were something in a museum to be revered...but it's not over. Not yet.

When the time comes, when this ridiculous thing has run its due course, we will whisper of it to our children at night, and they will whisper it to their children, and it will live forever, because it is extraordinary...and WE KNOW THAT. We don't need jealous assbags to explain that to us.

We will appreciate it the way you think we should appreciate it when it is over, and it is not over. We will get Brady, and Wilfork, and Mayo and everyone else back next year, and we will make another run, and you will hate us, and we don't care. Get ready for the 2014 Patriots, sad sacks. We will be elite, again. Count on it.

I am so proud of this year's New England Patriots right now I could burst into flames. You wish you were us. You, yes you even in Denver, crave and long for what we take for granted...except we don't take it for granted. We savor every snap, every second, every bit of it...and if we strut at times, ask yourselves what you would do in our stead. That's right: you'd strut, so hush.

Congratulations, Denver. Bring it home. We'll see you again, because of course we will.

Every minute, every snap. It was evident. You could have played this game on Neptune and the outcome would have been the same.

but it seems to me, that I have an obligation, uninformed as it is, to support the Seahawks. They are local after all.

I think I jinxed us. A sweet little old Mormon proselytizer came a'calling midway through the first quarter and I'm afraid I dismissed her from my doorstep in a, shall we say, less than courteous manner.
Welker took out Talib (who is now destined for Patriots history) immediately thereafter, and the rest of the game went downhill from there.
I'm sorry, guys - if I had known the implications I would have converted on the spot.
