Anquan Boldin re-signs with Niners

3-3-14 / espn.com

Terms of the contract have not been disclosed, but a source told ESPN NFL Insider Ed Werder that Boldin agreed to a two-year deal worth $12 million, including $9 million in guaranteed money.

The 33-year-old wide receiver also posted a statement titled "The Return To The Bay" on his foundation's website.

"49er fans, I wanted to be the first to tell you that I'm returning to San Francisco," Boldin said in the statement. "Looking forward to joining my teammates, coaching staff and fans to bring back another championship to the Bay Area. Let's go after our Quest For Six."

Boldin wanted to come back to the 49ers and said so.. Makes you wonder where some of the stories (Ann Killion most notably) came from about a few of the 49er veterans getting tired of Harbaugh's act in the locker room.

Boldin:

“I don’t think anybody in the locker room has an issue with Coach Harbaugh,” Boldin said. “The way our locker room is built, we have an open-door policy. If anybody has a concern or wants to voice their opinion, they’re more than welcome to.

“There have been times we have voiced our concerns as players, and Coach Harbaugh has listened to us and taken into consideration how we felt as players.”

Boldin added, “I don’t think there’s any rift between players and coaches, particularly Coach Harbaugh. Like I said, he has a great rapport with all of the guys that I know of. I heard of no griping in the locker room when it comes to Coach Harbaugh.

Next up is Dawson and maybe Whitner. Wouldn't mind seeing extensions getting done on Kap and Harbaugh either.

http://www.sfgate.com/49ers/article/Jim-Harbaugh-strongly-denies-reports-of-friction-5286344.php

… the 49ers' head coach flatly denied the reports that have surfaced since the report that started it all: a ProFootballTalk.com story Feb. 21 stating he was nearly traded to the Browns in January.

In an interview with Sports Illustrated, Harbaugh said he doesn't want more money, doesn't crave more power, believes there's "zero" chance he'll leave the 49ers before his contract expires after the 2015 season and has a productive working relationship with general manager Trent Baalke.

That last item - his reportedly splintered partnership with Baalke - has fueled speculation that there's dysfunction at the top of the 49ers' organization, which could lead to Harbaugh's premature exit. Baalke has final say on the 53-man roster, and Harbaugh said he wants only to coach the team: "I've told my owner I don't want any more power," he said.

As for the state of his relationship with Baalke, Harbaugh dismissed a report that they're barely on speaking terms, saying they talk "daily, hourly." In the past, 49ers CEO Jed York has acknowledged the duo has engaged in entertaining face-offs, and Harbaugh suggested the relationship could contain some creative tension.
