Heard On Pardon The Interruption - Baseball Mulling 7 Inning Games

It's their way of speeding up the game or something.

Seems like there are some simple things to be done first before the record books get rendered irrelevant by chaning every game to 7 innings.

Like, DON'T GET OUT OF THE BATTERS BOX TO ADJUST YOUR BATTER GLOVES WHEN YOU DIDN'T EVEN SWING THE BAT!

the AA Eastern League, for example.

But what, pray tell, are they planning to do about extra innings?

Better they should shorten the SEASON -- take it back to beginning in mid-April and ending the Word Series by early October, with best-of-five playoffs. If fans aren't paying enough attention to early season games, it's because they know they don't really matter.

I guess the whole "record book" argument applies too. I guess my concern would be a no-hitter now is official at 7 innings. Lots of no hit bids are ruined in the last 2 innings. Also, with likely one less at bat for most players every game, Ichiro's hit record will last forever.
