Browns sell 2,300 season tickets after Manziel pick

The Cleveland Browns have a bell that is rung every time a new season ticket is sold, and given the way things are going since the team selected Johnny Manziel with the 22nd pick in Thursday's first round of the NFL draft, the bell might need to be replaced before long.

Team president Alec Scheiner told ESPN.com that, in the time since Manziel was selected through 5 p.m. ET Friday, the team has sold more than 2,300 season tickets.

2,300 more Browns season ticket holders who will want a refund January 2015.

the fans here in CLE are starting to wonder whether there's some sort of conspiracy (drafting Manziel to sell tickets THEN revealing the Gordon news)

Started right from the beginning in naming Dwight Clark General Manager. That set them back five, six years. Add a continued series of bad draft choices, inept coaching staffs and key injuries.

Outsiders with established success? Mike Holmgren, Romeo Crennel, Phil Savage, Jeff Garcia … all nullified.

New deep-pockets owner Jimmy Haslam turns out to be a first-rate crook as well. Now Gordon.
