As a Buckeye raised in Illini country can I just say ...

… I do not want Maryland and Rutgers in my B1G. They are sooooo not B1G schools. I was pleased as punch with Nebbie joining. I wouldn't have minded Mizzou and I would have loved ND. But Rutgers and MD…no thank you. This was such a obvious money grab for TV markets that do not care one spit about college football.

I wasn't thrilled about Penn State, either... I'd have put the eastern boundary of the conference at the Ohio/PA border. But Penn State at least brought in a solid football tradition. I'm not overly keen on expansion generally but if that's the way things are these days - and it is - the best fit for the original Big Ten would definitely be schools like ND and Missouri in addition to Nebraska.
