The first instance came in the third quarter, after Cam Newton's touchdown:
And the second, after Greg Olson scored in the fourth:
Both players are recovering from ankle and foot injuries.
The NFL says it's investigating, and Cincinatti Bengals coach Marvin Lewis's only comment is "That sounds like the WWF." Hopefully the NFL's investigation will consist of looking at the tape and giving Burfict a WWF job reference.
On the other hand, stomping on people's heads HAS become passe. Give that psycho the boot -- if you'll pardon the expression -- or I'll have to add him to my "Next Aaron Hernadez Award" list.

(29,322 posts)Is easily among the most talented I have ever seen play inside linebacker and that includes Ray Lewis but the dirty play is hard to defend. Well I don't but I wish him the best but he needs to stop, at-least in the interest of his own career.
He went from a 1st-round lock to undrafted due to this sort of behavior which surprise me (I didn't understand why one wouldn't take a shot and risk it rather an a ILB from a no-name school in FCS?) I hope he cuts an end to this behavior, he could be in the hall of fame if this doesn't derail his career as it almost did before he even got to the NFL.

(56,177 posts)I think I read he led the team in penalties...he's a dirty player, who will only change if he loses money...even then I'm not so sure.

(44,573 posts)Yes, Ndamukong ("House of Spears") Suh is still employed -- he's managed to get himself under control. Get Burfict's head examined before his next game, at the very least.

(29,322 posts)He needs somebody, he needs somebody bad.
Some sort of mentor, somebody he'll listen to.
You saw how undisciplined Miami was w/ Dennis Erickson. Maybe it isn't Marvin Lewis, maybe an older or retired player. His career almost ended before it even started due to this.

(36,407 posts)My high school football coach, a former Rams linebacker, instructed us to ONLY do that at the bottom of the pile, a place where rules are abandoned and no body part is safe.

For grabbing the feet of TWO players who'd recently had lower leg injuries? That's nothing but a slap on the, uh, wrist...
