I heard on the radio that the Royals won a record 8 games in a row in the "postseason". Bull!

The Colorado Rockies beat the Padres in the Wild Card tie-breaker. Then they swept the Phils in 3. Then they swept the Snakes in 4.

This "Wild Card game" being included in the "Postseason" is a load of crap!

I just hope that the Royals don't suffer the same fate in the World Series (note the lack of quotation marks).

I'd go with Auggie's suggestion of shortening the season to 154 games and make the first round play 7. Get away from the division rule and make it strictly 1 vs 4, 2 vs 3 or rank by record so you don't run into the unfairness of the top AL team playing a WC team that are better than 1 or 2 other division winners.

For most of baseball history there were 8 teams in both the AL and NL. There was no League Championships unless there was a tie.

Since there are now 15 teams in each league it would make sense to have only two teams in each league in the so-called postseason. This expansion of the "postseason" has hurt the teams with the best record over 162 games and has only padded the pockets of the owners.

We may have a World Series between wild card teams teams with only 89 and 88 wins in the regular season.
