A-Roid's suspension ends, back on Yankees roster

http://www.si.com/mlb/2014/10/30/new-york-yankees-alex-rodriguez-suspension-ends

Now that the Major League Baseball season is over, Alex Rodriguez’s one-year suspension has ended, and he is back on the New York Yankees' roster, ESPN reports.

Rodriguez is eligible to play after being suspended last year for his involvement in the Biogenesis performance-enhancing drug scandal and his interference with the league’s investigation.

Commissioner Bud Selig handed down a 211-game punishment before an appeal shortened it to 162 games, the longest drug suspension in MLB history.

There has been no official word on A-Rod’s role next season, though manager Joe Girardi has stated his intention to play him at third base, provided Rodriguez is physically able to do so.

Bonds, Willie Mays, Willie McCovey, J.T. Snow, and Will Clark (among others) were special guest hitting coaches during 2014 Giants Spring Training.

The fact that the team would continue to support a known cheater is rather telling about their absolute lack of morals. And the fact that Barry Bonds himself isn't ashamed of the fact that he wasn't willing to compete on his own merits and instead had to resort to performance enhancing drugs to slink out of sight, shows that he still doesn't get what a worthless excuse for a man he is.

I support a multiyear ban like they have in international sports and would prefer a lifetime ban. Get garbage like Barry Bonds, Alex Rodriguez and all the rest out of sports. They don't deserve to be there.

I wouldn't call what the Giants do "support." They used Bonds one week to help coach their hitters. Then he was gone.

I took issue, initially, with seeing him in the WS parade and afterward on the stage at City Hall, but then remembered his role in Spring Training. Many of the others I mentioned were in the parade and on stage too, so it's only fair.

The multi-year ban idea is good. But until it comes along, Bonds is free to offer hitting instruction to any team.

For what it's worth, he'll never make the Hall of Fame and his records are permanently carved with an "*", including his Cooperstown home run ball. Not quite a life-time ban but a reminder none-the-less to generations what a colossal jerk he was.

Yankees management has been looking forward to paying him close to $30 million a year for his talents.

$30 million is a lot to pay for someone the rest of the team doesn't like!
