Rex Ryan Reportedly Has Cleared Out His Office

Charley Casserly, the former Redskins and Texans general manager who’s now working as a consultant for Jets owner Woody Johnson, is already contacting candidates to be the Jets’ next head coach and next General Manager.

That’s the word from Dom Cosentino of NJ.com, who reports that the Jets are moving quickly on the idea that head coach Rex Ryan and General Manager John Idzik both figure to be fired after Sunday’s season finale.

Ryan hasn’t been told he’s fired, but that move is so clearly coming that Ryan has already reportedly cleared out his office. Idzik’s firing hasn’t been seen as quite the sure thing that Ryan’s is, but given the lack of talent on the roster, and particularly Idzik’s inability to find a franchise quarterback, it’s easy to see why Idzik would get the boot as well.

Big changes are needed with the Jets. It appears that Johnson will begin making those changes within the next 48 hours.

The Ryan Bros have the biggest scam in the NFL going...keep getting jobs without getting results.

Saints linebacker Curtis Lofton doesn't necessarily believe New Orleans' much-maligned defense needs wholesale changes heading into next season.

While some roster adjustments will have to be made following a non-playoff campaign, Lofton thinks many pieces are already in place that will allow New Orleans to regain the form that took the Saints to an 11-5 record in 2013 and a spot in the NFC Divisional playoffs.

"I think Rob is one of the best defensive coordinators I've ever been around and played for," Lofton said. "Throughout the year, he stayed confident in himself and us.

"Why shouldn't he be back here?" outside linebacker Junior Galette said. "We're the ones out there on the field at the end of the day. He put us in a lot of good situations. I think it's unfair."

But I agree, joeybee12. Ryans = little to no results.

Sexy Rexy clearly isn't a head coach. As for Rob, the Saints' D was very good last year, and even though I don't think Rob can take credit, I suppose he deserves the benefit of the doubt.
