Related: About this forumI am rather enjoying the hysteria from the Pat's fans.
Don't get me wrong---I love Pat's fans--Celtic fans, Red Sox fans, etc. Thier passion for the sport is second to none hence their balls to the walls defense of Tom Brady and his deflated balls.
The way I see it--- Pat's fans, Brady innocent, big deal over nothing, haters be haters.
Non-Pat's fans or people looking at this without a bias view--- Brady knew exactly what he was doing and so did his crew who were doing it. The text's, the proof of deflated balls, everything that came out in that report---toooo fucking obvious.
Me--- oh Tom found a way to game the rules and he gamed the rules. You can certainly throw a ball better when it's deflated and you can certainly hold on to it better---hence the Pat's lack of fumbles over the past decade.
Tom simply got caught---Tom lied about it---Tom will now get spanked for it.
Pat's fans are going ballistic because they know in their hearts of hearts that the Bill B. and Tom B. legacy ain't exactly going to be that pretty in the future. Look---if this was my team, I'd do exactly the same.
But it ain't my team---it's the stinkin Pat's --a team that once did this to my team.

(7,286 posts)I have been struggling with this. The Pats' fans that are in angry denial about it, well homers be homers. Most have been silent so far. If it was my QB I would be silent on it too. Arguing against evidence like this is futile and leads to loss of credibility.
Brady should do like Ryan Braun did (the Brewers are my team): come clean and face his punishment and ask forgiveness of his fans, that gets them in a better place they can still respect and cheer for their flawed hero. Other fans will respect it as well. It will be hard at first (Braun got his ass booed off all last season), but in the long run it will be better for his career, the team (including all the equipment guys), the league, the game, its fans and his fans

(41,692 posts)and I had bully-gate last season---and was disgusted by it.
Diff is---the Phins have sucked for over a decade so when Bully-Gate came around it was one more nail in the coffin for my team.
Now---if the Phins were as successful as the Pat's the last decade---I might have defended them a bit better.
Pat's fans have to be stunned with this report and are now walking and talking like Zombies.

it is good enough for the NFL and civil cases I guess, not " beyond a reasonable doubt" as in a criminal cases
some self claimed lawyers in GD are pointing this out

(8,203 posts)like chickens with heads cut off - and zombies...too funny...the report- is not conclusive......besides, I have said this before....
the second-half footballs were within regulation, and that is when the Patriots scored the majority of their points in the 45-7 win -
As a LIFELONG Boston any SPORT FAN..and I can look to the rafter flags and trophy cases - pick one, "henny one" - yep - ..so proud.....
See you when the leaves start to fall - and the snow begins to fly -

(7,429 posts)If this team is so good - why did they even attempt to cheat at all??
It just shows that they can't actually win without some kind of advantage. It could be the snow plow, the tuck rule, spygate or deflate-gate - all of these things add up. They are cheaters who constantly get caught. Why do people insist on sticking up for this team even though they keep getting caught?? If everyone else is doing it, that is not an excuse . . .

(8,203 posts)oh and the tuck rule - too funny..oh - don't forget - the ever changing offensive line up during the game....didn't san fran squeal about that too! - too funny....
All I will say, let's see what ya' gut 2015 - I make no predictions - but then, we never do -and NO, it seems (LOL) it is only some fans still smarting from that last play Seattle made...big mistake, - HUGE!

(9,527 posts)Before they started cheating. It doesn't remove the obligation to play by the rules.
Cheating is an inherently cowardly act done by people who don't believe they can win in a fair competition. It doesn't matter if they are wrong in that belief.

I don't blame anyone - when you are king of the hill - you watch all those who wish to be YOU! -
Let's talk about snowplowgate...with Oakland...okay....or change offensive line with san fran...okay....deflategate - suspension (on inconclusive evidence) - okay - just to keep the masses happy - seems to me, the only way anyone will win...is if the Pats lose Brady....everyone has an agenda...
mythology
(9,527 posts)He wasn't cheating, it was just that he worked harder than everybody else. Oops.
You can pretend all you like that this is meaningless, just like Red Sox fans pretend local hero David Ortiz didn't fail a drug test when they bash Alex Rodriguez, but at the end of the day the evidence is strongly conclusive that Tom Brady is both a cheater and a liar.
The only people who are pretending that this is about New England's success are Patriots fans. I get that it's hard to admit and accept that your team feels it can't win without such things, but the evidence is clear. It doesn't matter if it helped them win or not. Nobody said the Falcons shouldn't be punished for piping in crowd noise just because they sucked.
Yes this has a higher profile because the team is successful, but they still cheated.

(8,203 posts)to cause personal harm - now that is rising to the level of punishment - I don't care if the Falcons piped crowd noise...my goodness..if that was an offense in football..imagine the punishment for republican politicians who ARE CROWD NOISE!
BTW - Aaron likes his footballs over inflated....go figure.....where's the beef???

Have you read the report? Not sure how you could come away after reading it still thinking that the balls were tampered with.

(34,825 posts)quit focusing on this one blowout. The game against the Ravens the previous week was much closer, and most certainly could've been affected by under-inflated footballs.
