RGIII statue at Baylor’s McLane Stadium vandalized

The statue of former Baylor University quarterback Robert Griffin III that stands outside McLane Stadium has been vandalized.

One or more vandals defaced the monument to Baylor’s Heisman Trophy winner with purple spray paint, the team color of Big 12 Conference rival Texas Christian University.

Nick Joos, Baylor’s executive associate athletics director for external affairs, said Thursday night that it was not immediately known when the statue was vandalized, but said the facilities staff has been in touch with the Baylor Department of Public Safety.

“We do have video surveillance out there, so I’m sure they’ll review that,” Joos said.
