Related: About this forumKristi Yamaguchi inducted into California Hall of Fame
http://blogs.mercurynews.com/internal-affairs/2015/10/29/kristi-yamaguchi-inducted-into-california-hall-of-fame/Olympic gold medalist Kristi Yamaguchi of Fremont was among eight luminaries that Gov. Jerry Brown and his wife welcomed into the California Hall of Fame this week.
California continuously reinvents itself and the people we honor have that combination of tradition, innovation and, of course, creativity, Brown said at the California Museum where the inductees were awarded the Spirit of California medal.
This years recipients join 88 other Californians previously inducted into the California Hall of Fame for their remarkable achievements across a variety of California industries and areas of influence, the governors office said, including science, philanthropy, sports, business, entertainment, literature, technology, activism and politics.
In addition to Yamaguchi, the Hall welcomed actor Robert Downey Jr., artist David Hockney, journalist Lester Holt, and space pioneer Ellen Ochoa. Also honored were late country star Buck Owens, Peanuts cartoonist Charles M. Schulz and martial arts legend Bruce Lee.

I'm a bit shocked about Robert Downey Jr. though considering the legal problems that he has faced throughout his life.
