Oh! It stands for "America Needs Farmers"

I had to look it up.

Well, that's OK with me. But the so-called Stanford Band at halftime sure insulted Iowans and this particular Iowa website.

And the "so-called" Stanford band is by far the best in FBS. (All the HBCU bands are in FCS.

) It is modeled after Ivy League bands like Yale's, which infamously punk'd New Haven's Italian-American community by marching down Chapel Street in the Columbus Day parade with the bass drum reading "Leif Erikson Was First"!
