I'm surprised and saddened. I felt like Lovie got a raw deal from the Bears--I know others disagree with me about this--and he had a respectable record with a rookie QB this season.

(64,995 posts)One year and out. That makes little sense to eat that much contract for a coach with a pretty good all time record. (Not so much in playoffs, but no total embarrassments either.)
That's just a lot of dead money for the team and raw deal for Smith

(11,443 posts)Carolina struggled Rivera's first two years breaking in a young QB, Cam Newton, but they showed improvement in year two so the owner stuck with him. The next three years they made the playoffs.
