Tom Coughlin shows no signs of quit after second Super Bowl championship

INDIANAPOLIS — Tom Coughlin isn’t going anywhere. Let’s finally come to grips with that, okay?

Fifty days ago, when the Giants suffered a second embarrassing loss to the Washington Redskins to fall to 7-7, everyone wanted to know if the Giants were going to fire him if his team missed the playoffs.

Today, with the Lombardi Trophy sitting next to him on a table as he addressed the media, everyone wanted to know if he’d go out on top after winning another Super Bowl.

A different question. But the same question.

“Are you planning to come back next year?” he was asked, less than 12 hours after beating the Patriots in the Super Bowl.

“I certainly hope so,” he replied.
