Terry Francona is one lucky dude

Any of these moves in Game Three of the World Series could have backfired on him:

• Lifting SP Josh Tomlin after 58 pitches (he was cruising).

• Lifting Reliever Andrew Miller after 17 pitches (he was cruising too). The double-switch in the 7th inning gave him just one additional batter before the pitchers' spot came up.

• Lifting catcher Roberto Perez for a pinch runner and playing Yan Gomes (Gomes, having recently come off the DL, is as rusty as they come).

• Pinch-hitting Coco Crisp (Crisp was 0-8 this year in that role, though to be fair he hit a league leading .392 with RISP). Crisp drove in the game-winning run on the first pitch he saw.

• Starting DH Carlos Santana in left field. He's previously played that position in the majors just four innings, and that was way back in August 2012.

Is it luck? Or is Francona managing a masterpiece? That was such an amazing Game Three.

Still, can't think of anyone else in the AL who is deserving.
