Cheesecake Factory fires manager who wore blackface Colin Kaepernick costume

As a Seahawks fan I've made or laughed at a few jokes at Kaepernick's expense but this crosses the line.

Setting aside the fact that wearing blackface is horribly racist, it’s also just plain dumb. Someone is going to take your picture, and that picture is going to be shared, and it’s going to come back to haunt you.

And so we have the story of a manager at a Cheesecake Factory in suburban Rochester, N.Y., who dressed up as Colin Kaepernick in blackface at a company party.

The incident was reported to the blog Love Life of an Asian Guy — which covers racism, politics and pop culture — by a longtime Cheesecake Factory employee named Antonea Stevens, who says she witnessed the incident. She added that the manager “has had constant issues with staff for inappropriate contact with female servers [and] swearing at the kitchen staff” and often used the n-word in front of other employees.

The blog post went up Tuesday and included a pledge to boycott Cheesecake Factory if it didn’t take action, which it did Thursday.
