The "Dawgs" are the Georgia Bulldogs.

As it happens, I am in Berkeley as we speak. Right after I got off BART, I saw a couple of yokels wearing U-Dub shirts. I hissed at them, but refrained from yelling "Seattle is the other way, doofus!" (they were walking south on Shattuck)
