The football polls are not always fair so I thought about this for many years.

Pretend we're back when college played 10 games. Pretend at the end of the season, the top 10 teams are undefeated, obviously not having played each other. Now, they each had a common opponent that lost to each of these teams by only 1 point. This common team would probably be dead last in the polls, having no wins, but I would rate them number 11. Any thoughts? I'm not looking for an argument, just some thoughts.

It mirrors the regular poll. There's some politics in it - throwing bones to people in your coaching tree.

& west coast teams because they play against them and gameplan for them. Media need a journalism degree for their opinions.

I prefer his rankings to polls when picking college football games.

Edit they used to his & other power ranking formulas in the BCS but they dis away with for a BS selection committee.

Sagarin top 40
