Report: 2 NFL Agents Say Texans Aren't Seeking Players Who Kneeled for Anthem

JOSEPH ZUCKER
MARCH 5, 2018

The Houston Texans may be shying away from free agents who protested during the national anthem, the Houston Chronicle's Jerome Solomon reported Saturday.

"There is no directive within the organization, but it is considered to be understood that as desperate as the Texans are to bring in talent, the pool of potential signees and draftees will not include anyone who has participated in protests or are likely to," Solomon wrote after speaking to two NFL agents about the issue.

Free-agent quarterback Colin Kaepernick filed a grievance in October alleging the NFL and team owners have colluded to keep him out of the league as a result of his role in the protest movement.

USA Today's Mike Jones reported in November that Texas owner Bob McNair was among three team owners who were on the deposition list as part of the grievance.

If this world made any sense, we would name schools/roads after Colin or erect his statue in the town square and use his example to teach courage to our children. I hate the NFL. He is a hero.

it is the team itself. Am I right?

And I agree with you. Colin is a hero and person our children can look up to. Besides, last time I checked, the First Amendment is still alive and well. Mostly

applies to government restrictions on free speech, not private businesses. Try shouting, "My boss sucks!!!" at your place of employment and see if your First Amendment rights protect you from getting fired.

I am all for any other team basing their recruiting decisions on non-essential traits like political-correctness.

oh and willingness to act like a good little robot and only parrot the same sullen nonsense Belichick says. The latter of which, is just the teenage form of political correctness.

1.) http://yourteamcheats.com/cheaters/
2.) Team discipline is considered a good thing, normally. I for one am glad that players on my team don't go talking (or surreptitiously videotaping their coach giving a private pep talk, AB!). 9.9 times of out 10, ALL players give canned answers to interview questions. When they don't, what comes out is usually bad.

They're from Houston. That area is becoming increasingly blue, right? So, that fan base is going to have a problem with guys who knelt down a year ago.

Just stupid.
