Oklahoma gets final spot in College Football Playoff

Georgia's loss was Oklahoma's gain.

The Sooners, who won the Big 12 title Saturday, claimed the last spot in the College Football Playoff over Ohio State and Georgia, which lost to Alabama in the SEC championship game. Georgia had been No. 4 followed by Oklahoma and Ohio State.

The next three teams announced Sunday weren't a big surprise. No. 1 Alabama, No. 2 Clemson and No. 3 Notre Dame held onto their spots for the semifinal games to be played Dec. 29. The national championship game will be played Jan. 7 in Santa Clara, California.

Alabama will play Oklahoma in the Orange Bowl, while Notre Dame faces Clemson in the Cotton Bowl.

1. I think they need to trim 2 regular season games and go to eight teams

Georgia, Ohio State, and UCF really should have a shot. And Washington since they are the Pac 12 champion.

To suggest that the PAC-12 champion is even among the top 10 teams in the country.

7. Arizona State beat Utah by 19

I think they would have been a bigger challenge against Washington but they lost too many games by a touchdown or less. Washington is good though especially their pass defense as well as the rest of the Pac 12 North teams except for Oregon State.

3. Why is Notre Dame in there? Don't the play a very soft schedule?

I also think the Big 10 needs to be represented.

5. Notre Dame beat Michigan and Northwestern

and they are undefeated. I normally would agree with you about ND, but not this year.
