There was Kyrie Irving's flat-earth theory (though he later retracted it), and now Golden State Warriors superstar Steph Curry has said he doesn't believe that humans ever landed on the moon.
His comments came during Vince Carter and Kent Bazemore's Winging It podcast, where he was appearing alongside Andre Iguodala (h/t Dan Feldman of NBC Sports):
"Curry: 'We ever been to the moon?'
"Multiple responders: 'Nope.'
"Curry: 'They're gonna come get us. I don't think so, either.'"

(64,871 posts)But a wannabe and a has been? Yeah, it's unlikely that person knows who Curry is.
BTW: Is it possible to be both? A wannabe never was and a has been had to have been somebody.
Not sure one can be both.
Last point: It seems to me that Curry is trolling here, just like Irving did with the flat earth thing. Curry is a well educated rich kid, with a highly liberal sensibility. I think he's pulling everyone's leg.

(34,195 posts)NBA All-Star and MVP Stephen Curry is a proud witness for God, passionate about building himself and others up in Christ. The Golden State Warrior was raised to believe in God and believes his purpose is greater than being a basketball star alone, that God is preparing him for an even bigger stage to be a witness for Him. In an interview for the Fellowship of Christian Athletes magazine, Curry said that his faith identifies him more than his jersey.

(64,871 posts)He's an outspoken liberal (and Trump loather) with a very good education from kindergarten forward. (Private schools and rich, educated parents.)
I think he's pulling people's legs.

(29,148 posts)I mean, it's tough to tell since there isn't any context and you can't hear tone of voice, etc., from the transcript, but it doesn't seem like a serious comment to me.
