(3,490 posts)There are no MAC teams in the championship series. There's an AAC team, UCF, playing in the Fiesta Bowl but that's not one of the "playoff" games. UCF has won 25 straight games so they belong in a New Year's Day bowl such as the Fiesta Bowl.

(6,110 posts)Notre Dame joined the ACC in all sports except football. Because of its longstanding scheduling commitments and related reasons it could not meet the minimum of seven games against ACC opponents needed to compete within the conference. ND does play five ACC opponents in football each year, in rotation.

(24,395 posts)that far down the list could be considered for the final four. Ohio State, Georgia and a few others were robbed this year. ND's woeful performance yesterday was proof positive that they did not belong in the final four.
They got punked!
Their record was an illusion from pounding a bunch of also-rans.
