Is Seahawks safety Earl Thomas worth a $50M price tag?
The new league year is just around the corner, and Seattle Seahawks safety Earl Thomas is poised to become one of the hottest unrestricted free agents on the market. Thomas is looking for the contract of a lifetime, and it will likely be with a new team.
But is Thomas, who is nearing 30, worth a megadeal investment? Thomas played just four games in 2018 and finished the year on injured reserve, the second time in his career he has been sidelined with a major season-ending injury - an injury that was the likely reason Seattle didn't offer him a huge contract extension in the first place.
ESPN's Dan Graziano recently took a stab at predicting the contract terms of some of the top pending free agents around the league, and he projected Thomas could garner a four-year deal worth $52 million with $20 million guaranteed.
