Phillies won 23-22. But only one run was scored after 9 innings.
My sister, who is 11 years younger than me, was on a 7th grade field trip, so she & my mom were at the game!
The bus company owner (catholic school & he was a parishioner) drove as was a baseball fanatic. So, he didn't make them leave b4 game was over, because he wanted to see history.
So, they saw all 10 innings and all 45 runs!

(64,877 posts)It was the WGN broadcast, so Brick house & Boudreau as play by play.
Pitchers on both sides were shell shocked.
That game was played with replacement umps the the strike zone was small!!!!
So, the pitchers were behind 3&1 constantly and hitters hammered them when they had to groove one.
This the game where King an hit on out and it the porch roof on the 3rd house north of Waveland. My estimate is nearly 600 feet!
Also, I looked it up and this is the second highest scoring game ever. Since you're Phillies & I'm Cubs we'll both dig this.
The highest scoring game was 26-23. No kidding, the Cubs beat the Phils. Yep. So 58 years later Philly got even!

(64,877 posts)That's what I looked at last night. Short articles about each game. Pretty sure it was top 15, but might be more.
On Edit: pretty sure it was Bleacher Report
