College commissioners to VP Mike Pence: No students on campus, no college football

Several scenarios have been floated in an effort to ensure the 2020 college football season is played, but college commissioners told Vice President Mike Pence Wednesday that no games will be played until students are back on campus.

The College Football Playoff Management Committee spoke with Pence on a conference call Wednesday, and per CBS Sports' Dennis Dodd, Big 12 commissioner Bob Bowlsby told Pence that no games will be played until students are allowed back on campus.

"Our players are students. If we're not in college, we're not having contests," Bowlsby said. "Our message was, we need to get universities and colleges back open, that we were education-based programs, and we weren't going to have sports until we had something closer to normal college going on."

The call happened after President Donald Trump told reporters he would speak with various leaders and commissioners from sports leagues about eventually reopening the country when the coronavirus pandemic is contained.

and the number of injuries will also increase if the athletes do not receive adequate practice and physical conditioning. The students may think of themselves as invincible, but hopefully the parents will step in to provide some guidance.

I am terrible at giving myself a haircut and I would never trust my wife with scissors. I may need to go on Xanax.

Diet specialization is a poor evolutionary option.
How will we dine out in the coming age?
Shall big box retail carcasses home the homeless?
Where will we spend our Social Security if there's no grocery any more? The Goodwill store?

Don't see how you disassemble the component parts and go with just the game. The supportive psychology is gone. Bands, cheerleaders, crowds, and for TV spectators, commercials, graphics, crowd noise.

So tell us, Mr. Trump, how crowds will be safe until corona vaccine is universally applied. Whatcha' gonna do? Distance every third row, and every 4th seat? Yeah, that will be an event.

How you gonna sell hot dogs? and for events so permitted, beer and pretzels and popcorn?

How are movie theaters doing? Oh yeah, right, they're a crowded event.

Gee this must be complex for you, President Donnie.

. . .and forget about any sense of normal for the near future.

Hell, until there is widespread testing and viable treatment, there may not be college or pro sports until 2021. Deal with it.
