Related: About this forumNew artificial turf at MetLife Stadium likely responsible for numerous injuries
49ers vs Jets.
QB Jimmy Garoppolo (ankle). DE Nick Bosa (torn ACL), DT Solomon Thomas (ACL), RB Raheem Mostert (knee) -- 49ers who left the game with lower-leg injuries. The Jets WR Breshad Perriman (ankle).
The defending NFC champions scored a lopsided 31-13 win over the New York Jets. But they lost several key players to injuries in the process. Head coach Kyle Shanahan wasnt pleased with the MetLife Stadium grounds crew.
Shanahan told reporters after the game that the turf played a role in multiple injuries.
I dont know exactly why it happened, Shanahan said, per the Sacramento Bee. As far as the feeling that was on the sidelines, thats as many knee injuries and ankle stuff and people getting caught on the turf as Ive ever been a part of. From what I saw, the other team did too.
Players complained about sticky turf
Shanahan said players raised concerns about the turf early and were worried about playing on it. The 49ers have to play again on the field next week in a game against the New York Giants.
I know our players talked about it the entire game, just how sticky the turf was, and I think that was the first time people played on it, I think Shanahan said. But yeah, it was something our guys were concerned about right away. And the results definitely made that a lot stronger.
Unfortunately this is a place weve got to go back to next week.
According to Pro Football Talk, the league plans to take a closer look at the turf because of the 49ers concerns. https://sports.yahoo.com/kyle-shanahan-blames-met-life-turf-as-49-ers-suffer-slew-of-injurie-225013719.html

NFL field operations to take a look at MetLife Stadium turf
The NFL takes great care to certify any and all playing surfaces before each game. Notwithstanding those efforts, concerns have emerged regarding the turf at MetLife Stadium in the aftermath of multiple lower-leg injuries suffered by members of the San Francisco 49ers.
Per a league source, the NFLs field operations department will take a closer look at the situation based on the concerns raised by the 49ers.
Theres a very good reason for doing that: The 49ers play there again next Sunday, against the Giants.

49ers should forfeit the game and return to the Bay Area. Potential career-ending injuries, certainly season-ending injuries, are not worth the risk. I'd take a loss against the Giants rather than see another player go down.

(21,916 posts)1. Do you think the 49ers owners would go along with your suggestion? (n/t)

(31,060 posts)3. Probably not, but I can think of some reasons why they should ...
Javon Kinlaw, Brandon Aiyuk, Jerick McKinnon, Fred Warner, Dre Greenlaw, Nick Mullens ...
these guys are the future, currently all on the roster, and all but McKinnon haven't suffered serious injury.

Fake grass, fake sports, fake minds. No wonder we're in the mess we're in. Whatever happened to the plastic grass + ground up tires = Leukemia? that was a scare a couple of years ago.
Fucking astroturf is the greensward of Satan.
