Another new super car... but this one is different.

The Trident Iceni is the latest in what seems an incredibly long line of high end luxury sports cars introduced lately. Built in England, it features all the usual big performance numbers, including 430hp, 950 ft/lb of torque, and zero to sixty in under four seconds. It moves that power through a transaxle designed in house by Trident that is a fluid drive automatic up to one mile per hour, then locks up into a paddle shifted manual gearbox to 200mph and beyond. The unusual stainless steel chassis is guaranteed for 100 years, and the Inceni may be the safest car on the road.

All that is regular 21st century supercar standard except for one big thing... It's a bio-diesel. If you choose, it'll run on the french fry grease Mickey Dees recycles, or plain pump diesel and kerosene. The mid front 6.6 four valve variable vane turbo boosted engine sips fuel like a Cobalt, leaves the environmental footprint of a Neon, but whiplashes like a Ferrari. All that for a mere $150,000. Fortunately for me, I won't have to begin searching under the couch cushions for change, as I don't think they're building a left hand drive model for the US market.

The next James Bond movie should be a hoot however, as 007 leads a pack of salivating guard dogs off the trail with his fish & chips scented exhaust.

All Trident Iceni models use the V8 turbo diesel engine. Although the mineral diesel sold in every fuel station in the UK has a small percentage of Bio-diesel within its formula ( approximately 5% ) the Iceni range has been developed to run on 100% Bio-Diesel.

Bio-diesel is produced from renewable resources, especially plant biomass, vegetable oils and treated industrial waste. Bio-fuels are considered neutral with respect to the emission of carbon dioxide because the carbon dioxide given off by burning them is balanced by the carbon dioxide absorbed by the plants that are grown to produce them.

Bio-diesel is an advanced bio-fuel made from readily available, renewable resources. It is a domestic, sustainable, cleaner burning, diesel fuel replacement that meets strict quality specifications.

There are generally two types of Bio- Diesel, Used Cooking Oil (UCO) and Rapeseed Methyl Ester (RME)

RME now encompasses Linseed, Rapeseed, Olive and Palm oils. The Iceni will also run on Paraffin and Kerosene.

All these different fuels are controlled by the in car diagnostic / computer controlled systems that can sense and adjust to the various ratio's of different types of bio-diesel
