Forever a part a baseball history thanks to an all-star game collision at home plate.

A glimmer of hope to Indians fans during the darkest days of the franchise as well.

I'm thrilled he was able to get rings with Oakland. Well-earned.

I count Ray as among the best "color men" in baseball play-by-play. For 36 years he worked alongside greats Bill King, Lon Simmons and Ken Korach.

I'll miss his voice.

Always wished I could have gotten him to sign it somehow.

Many Cleveland fans have very fond memories of Ray. There was a very nice write up about him in the Plain Dealer the other day.
