I hung out at a dive bar called Tracy Joes, the cheapest beer in town. The bartender was the spitting image of Cheech Maren, and the whole bar was rabid Raider fans. I was working in Tracy at Christmas and I had framed a copy of the Immaculate Reception and wrapped it up as a Christmas present for the bartender, I gave him the present and he said, "what's this shit?' I say, what, it's a Christmas present. He opens it, pauses, and screams, "that's that cheat play."

He says he can't hang it up on the wall it would be immediately destroyed so he did put it behind the bar, that gift from the Pa, boys.

Tonight's Steelers / Raiders game was to celebrate that event. Big halftime show to retire Franco's number. This had been planned from when the league set up the schedule for the year. As Art Rooney said, Franco was supposed to be here. Franco died on Dec. 20, 2022.

I don't remember which one. When Franco ran for the TD, the referees huddled to decide if it was a legal play, if the ball touched the Raider DB first or touched Frenchy Fuqua. As the story goes the head ref called someone and asked how much security do you have and the answer came back, 1 cop, to which the ref declared, Touchdown.

46 seconds left in regulation. Instead of being 4th and 10, they were 4th and 1. Wonder if Terry Bradshaw had a flashback moment!

Raiders would win, they aren't doing well this year and I am sure the fans are disappointed with how their season is going.
