1. Arizona Cardinals' J.J. Watt out vs. Green Bay Packers because of shoulder injury

TEMPE, Ariz. - The week the Arizona Cardinals get one star defender back, they lost another.

Defensive end J.J. Watt was ruled out of Thursday night's game against the Green Bay Packers with a shoulder injury. He didn't participate in the Cardinals' only practice of the week on Tuesday.

Watt has 10 tackles, including five for a loss, and one sack this season. He is getting to the quarterback often, with 10 quarterback hits in the first seven games, including nine in his past four.

Though Watt will be out, the Cardinals will get back pass-rusher Chandler Jones , who missed the past two games because of COVID-19. He was activated off the list on Monday.

Wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins is among four Cardinals who are questionable for Thursday night. He was listed with a hamstring injury and didn't practice on Tuesday, as well. Arizona didn't practice Monday or Wednesday, so its injury-report designations were an estimate.

A win over the 6-1 Packers would make the Cardinals 8-0 for the first time in franchise history.

He will be getting season ending surgery next week. I’m glad to have Chandler Jones back and Deandre Hopkins often misses practice due to injury but he always shows up for the game. He was also known for that at Houston.

Down goes the Cardinals.

AJ Green for the win.

Green gave almost ZERO effort for the Bengals last season, so it seemed like an apt ending to me!

Not sure what happened on that last play or why he didn’t see the ball.

5. He acted like he was run-blocking.

Perhaps he truly never expected a pass, and it was a designed run play?

A running play by Kyler Murray (or anyone else) would've been risky in that situation, though, given the time remaining. Unless the runner could definitely get out of bounds if stopped short.

Green last season, while paid more than $18 million:

Green looked like he was preparing to run-block on that play after the bad INT... blocking for the Ravens defender, that is.

6. AJ Green missed an audible from Murray

According to Jim Trotter of NFL Media, one source familiar with the situation said Kingsbury dialed up a pass to the left, but Murray saw a better matchup to the right with Green on Douglas. Murray then apparently signaled for a back-shoulder fade to Green, but Green did not see the audible -- which is why he didn't turn around when the ball was in the air, as he believed the pass was going to the other side of the field.

He looked like he didn’t expect the play to go his way at all.
