A Hastings-based attorney who made harassing statements against judges and other court personnel has been suspended indefinitely by the Minnesota Supreme Court.
Rebekah Nett cannot petition for reinstatement to the practice of law for nine months, the court ruled in a unanimous decision, filed Wednesday. Justice David Stras took no part in the decision.

In one court filing, Nett, 38, called a bankruptcy judge a "black-robed bigot" and a "Catholic Knight Witch Hunter." In another, she referred to a different bankruptcy judge as a "Jesuit" and a U.S. trustee as a "priest's boy." That filing also alleged that "these dirty Catholics have conspired together to hurt Debtor."
Some of the smear-filled filings came in bankruptcy cases of entities related to SIST, or the Dr. R.C. Samanta Ray Institute of Science and Technology, a religious group Nett was raised in.

(118,215 posts)the lawyer is with the judge and just how much more authority and respect the lawyer commands in the courtroom, compared to the judge? You don't think a good lawyer's first task is to show the judge who is boss?
