Top 12 pastor stunts.........(just for fun).......

A California pastor made headlines this month when he announced that he will live like an atheist for a year to see what it’s like on the other side of belief. But Ryan Bell is actually just the latest “stunt pastor” to use unorthodox means to draw attention to his message.
(snip)
In recent years, other church leaders have challenged congregants to have sex (with their spouse) for 30 days straight or have dressed like homeless people or lived in a tiny box or on a spacious roof in order to gin up attention, attendance or ?????

After the orgies, we sacrifice... blah blah blah, you get the picture. Seriously, atheism is not a lifestyle, but a lack of belief in God(s). How do you tell if he is telling the truth if he says he is not believing in God(s)?

Normally I would take him at his word, but this is a public media event and I am suspicious.

and sleep in on Sunday mornings. I suppose in his case it also meant reading a lot of atheist literature, something a lot of atheists haven't bothered doing since much of it is an attempt to explain us to believers.

Other than that, he had to rake his leaves and mow his lawn and pay his taxes like everybody else in the "atheist lifestyle."

And if he was at all honest, he'd admit the only difference between him and any garden variety atheist is that atheists believe in one fewer gods than he does.

win the argument the other way around for practice. It's a question of working from axioms you don't really accept, but people do it all the time. Think of lawyers who defend DUIs and the like.

The reason Bell is interesting is the chance that he comes out the far end a real atheist. Or he comes out the far end a saved lost lamb. Either way it's worth a watch.
