'Noah': Twitter conservatives outraged that film deviates from Bible's original English

This was posted in GD for those that may not read that forum.

Devout Christians are up in arms this morning about Darren Aronofsky’s film Noah, despite the fact that the majority of them haven’t seen it. They’re upset because, in the words of one person on Twitter:

Aronofsky’s script deviates from the biblical account, and many on Twitter are happy to point the curious to the “real” story:

....

Not that some people out there aren’t happy with the creative license Aronofsky exercised:

More here

Of course we know that these people that take the bible literally are such a small minority of the population that it is hardly worth noting.

Thought I kind of made that point at the end of my post.

Seems like an interesting thing that so many people are so outraged, because of their religious beliefs, about the accuracy of a story that, I hope, everyone in this Forum thinks is just a fable.

Do I need to use an incognito browser to see if you respond to rugs five million random OPs about atheists in the same way?

My reaction is a bunch of people don't like a movie because it didn't follow the book.

Sorry I should have reacted differently.

These are people mad because this isn't the real version of the truth. They are mad because they see it as religious. And because "an atheist" made the movie. It's not just "it's not as good as the book." These reactions are based on, in my opinion, ridiculous religious beliefs.

Wouldn't it be like 15mins long?

Its a subsection of a subsection of a single book in an anthology. It's not that long.

What did they think they were gonna do for the other 105mins? Show Noah's unending boredom aboard his boat?

Or show Noah and his sons and their wives draw straws to see who shovels up all the shit today, and who gets to feed the crocodiles.

...yet get all spun up when the absurd things they believe really happened (immaculate conception, resurrection, etc.) are called into question.
