Stephen Colbert Warns America: 'There's A War On Religion,' And Satan Is Coming To The OK Capitol

Stephen Colbert addressed viewers on The Colbert Report to solemnly say, "I don’t have to tell you, that there is a war on religion in America."

The Satanic Temple is planning to erect a 7-foot tall statue of goat-headed Baphomet outside the Oklahoma State Capitol, and Colbert has got the latest on their "fiendish plot."

“Back in 2005, the Supreme Court ruled that the Ten Commandments could not be displayed on government property," Colbert explained. "Oh really? But it’s perfectly fine for public parks to display the Druid’s sacred symbol — the tree — and for the sky to put up the Islamic crescent moon every month. Wake up, it’s waxing Sharia!”

After the Oklahoma legislature authorized a privately-funded monument of the Ten Commandments at the state Capitol which was erected in 2012, the Satanic Temple offered to donate their own. They have raised over $28,000 and are currently working on the statue.
