As I said in the other thread, twitter is not a good fit for what he has to say.
But this essay shows, whether you agree or disagree, his writing is still worthwhile.
Please discuss this all you want, I am not here to defend him, since I believe he was more than capable of that himself.
I am posting this because it gives context to the thread about his tweet for those who wish for more of the story.

(13,029 posts)And unfortunately, this site is rife with folk who put certain topics off limits, out of sheer, knee-jerk, visceral reaction, not for any rational reason they can enunciate. It's just wrong, cuz they says so, and they're not interested in logic or dispassionate discussion.
