Arizonan, 22, busted wearing pentagram necklace, black robe
AUGUST 29--An Arizona man wearing a pentagram necklace and calling himself the Dark Lord was arrested yesterday after allegedly setting fire to a Bible and then urinating on it outside of a rescue mission, cops report.
Prescott Police Department officers were summoned to the Gospel Rescue Mission around 9 PM by a worker who reported that a man was burning something on the front step of the mission.
When cops arrived, they encountered Eric Minerault, 22, standing on the missions steps. He was dressed in black and was wearing a long, black and red robe and a pentagram necklace, reported police, who added, The officers noticed a Bible, which was wet and appeared to have been burnt, on the ground near Mr. Minerault.
During questioning, Minerault reportedly copped to burning and urinating on the Bible. While cursing the Christians, Minerault said that he chose the mission for the Good Book burning because he believed it was a place of Christian worship.

Such a hateful book.

What a loser, you'd think he'd have gotten most of that "pointless rebellion" shit out of his system before he reached the full age of majority. Dark Lord? More like DORK Lord, wearing granny's robe like that!!
I find the charge of "unlawful symbol burning" odd, though. Why not just bag him for starting a fire without a permit, public urination/indecent exposure, and trespassing?
I mean, I'm sure he would have been "just as arrested" if he was pissing on the dictionary or a copy of "Highlights for Children."

(82,333 posts)What he did was stupid, whatever his reasons were. Its one thing to desecrate a symbol in protest; its another to damage church property in the process.
Minerault didnt immediately respond to my requests for comment. Ive also reached out to the Mission to find out if there was any property damage and if they needed any help.
***Update***: A Mission official told me (via email): the young man was never able to light the fire he wanted so there is no damage or need for clean up. Glad to hear that.

Seven for the Dwarf-lords in their halls of stone,
Nine for Mortal Men doomed to die,
One for the Dark Lord on his dark throne
In the land of Mordor, where the Shadows lie.
One ring to rule them all, one ring to find them,
One ring to bring them all, and in the Darkness bind them,
In the land of Mordor, where the Shadows lie.
