Wow! Dan Barker's Clergy Project!

Last week's Freethought Radio is a really great one. Dan Barker, a former evangelical and current atheist is one of the good guys. As a former tongue speaking pastor and current co-president of the Freedom From Religion Foundation he has formed the Clergy Project which supports clergy who have abandoned their religion. This episode is one where two former clergy, one Lutheran, one Pentecostal, relate their stories.

The thing is, none of this would be possible were it not for Dan Barker, who helped found the Clergy Project. None of the members are required to be public with their atheism. In fact, they are anonymous, unless they volunteer to make their opinions public. The Clergy Project supports clergy who are doubting their beliefs but possibly have no experience to leave their profession. The purpose is to support those who are having problems leaving their faith.

The recent Freethought Radio addresses this with two former pastors who relate their experiences of giving up their beliefs. It is a good one.

But I really admire Dan Barker and the work he has done with the clergy project.

If I happen across a place where I can listen to this, I will.

Thanks for continuing to actively support this project.
